Fitment guidance
We have kits to fit all C7 A6s and A7s.
For cars fitted with MMI Plus (8″ screen) please choose MMI related options.
For cars of all years fitted with the smaller 6.5″ screen, please choose the ‘New generation RMC’ related options from the drop down menu.
Installation steps overview
MMI kit –
Remove climate control unit with included trim tool – Remove multimedia unit (1 x bolt) – Remove glovebox (6 x bolts)
Plug in CarPlay box wiring behind multimedia unit and behind glovebox (plug and play) – make 1 x single wiring connection to multimedia wiring loom – locate CarPlay box – locate microphone.
RMC Kit –
Remove climate control unit with included trim tool – Remove multimedia unit (1 x bolt) – Remove glovebox (6 x bolts)

Received the kit last week and finally had some spare time to fit it to my 2013 A6. I have to say it’s impressive. I connect my iPhone 7 to the CarPlay kit, it shows all my favourite apps, Apple maps, Spotify, WhatsApp, Apple Music, etc. Then I tested the handsfree phone calls and messages, Siri captured my voice accurately and making phone calls is really easy. I tried Apple mirroring function too, and it works better than expected. Display is very clear and I can watch Youtube videos without any problem. Customer service is fantastic. They are always easily contactable during my installation process.

Slight delay in shipping, waiting for a cable on back order. But now installed. Love it. Had an Apple CarPlay retro fitted in my old A4, and going to a new car was a step back in tech, because the Phone drives the system.
Installation was pretty straightforward after having to convert my old A4 to a double din, this was more manageable and easier. Advice? well, fitting all the cables behind the multimedia unit was a pain, but then when isn’t it when you’re adding even more? I mounted the unit with double sided padded tape in between the glove box and dashboard. There was a nice section of framework to attach it to.
I managed to feed the USB cable into the ash tray/front storage box, this required taking the gear stick surround out, and handily a little tab in the storage box can pop out to feed the cable into. I bought a new right angle lightning cable so I could accommodate my iPhone plus.It fits perfectly.
Anyway, I’m happy and waiting for iOS 12 to bring Google maps into play. I trust their traffic a little more.

I would like to think I’m pretty good at this sort of thing, however I struggled a little as for me the instructions could have been clearer for a complete novice and pictures could be sharper. That being said the customer service was second to none and the team helped guide me through the installation pretty much step by step. I retrofitted my Audi A6 16 plate avant which others said could not be done and works great. After the initial phone set up (which was a little challenging) it worked and works perfectly. I had to run an additional wire to my centre console under the armrest (for AMI) which I found help from via another site. No drilling or damage was required for installation and would never know it wasn’t factory fitted.

Works great – super seamless!
The delay on startup post MMI boot is about 20 seconds, but once it’s booted, it works like a factory system.
Had local guys fit it for me, who recommended this as the best kit. It was 3 hours with a reverse cam kit as well, but they seem to think they’re pretty simple to do.
Kudos for brings my RS6 back to the future! 🙂
